'Windflowers, Fuschias and a Blue Bird'

£600.00

Bespoke framed painting from part of 'The Language of Flowers' exhibition. Each painting has, as part of the art work, an original piece of poetry or prose that responds to the featured flower.

The paintings are mixed media in acrylics and inks. They have an iridescent quality that change the look of the painting throughout the day depending on where they are hung and quality of the light. The paintings themselves are on mixed media paper (42 x 59.4cm) which are float mounted in regency white, hand-finished frames (68 x 85.4cm). The frames use 'artglass' which is brilliant at dampening reflections especially in comparison to untreated glass. (New to me and quite magical actually!) I wanted them to have the feel of being encased in a box, much like you would see at a botanical museum.
